Rushing Sigma Chi

The Omega chapter of Sigma Chi has a long and storied history of developing young men into leaders while fostering a sense of brotherhood and friendship. Our chapter’s recruitment process is about meeting and connecting with rushees on a personal level. We do this through larger group events such as Topgolf, a Thanksgiving dinner and basketball tournaments, as well as more low-key activities like inviting rushees over for meals or to chill around the house.

We take the time to be thorough in our recruitment process to ensure that individuals who receive bids to our chapter represent the ideals of Sigma Chi and are upstanding community members. We aren’t looking for someone to fit a “cookie cutter” mold, but rather we’re looking for individuals from all types of backgrounds and interests who will contribute to a kind and talented group. From varsity athletes to musicians, activists to entrepreneurs - and everything in between - Sigma Chi’s most recent pledge class is the culmination of a melting pot of ideas and cultures. We are proud of the community we have built, and excited for the future we hope to build.

Sigma Chi at Northwestern meets all demonstrated need financially so that economic barriers do not prevent membership. This is emphasized during rush so that potential new members do not fear exclusion due to socioeconomic status.
